The employee, Serge Svetnoy, has Baldwin and the other producers of Rest sued for emotional damage. He witnessed how camera woman Halyna Hutchins died in 2021 from her injuries, after she was hit by a bullet fired by Baldwin. According to Svetnoy, the producers are liable for negligence and unprofessional behavior.
According to Baldwin’s lawyers it is “understandable” that Svetnoy has experienced “mental burden” by the incident, but Baldwin denies being responsible.
The weapon expert who worked on the set during the incident was sentenced to eighteen months in prison in April 2024. In May 2025 she was released because of good behavior. A criminal case against Baldwin was rejected.
