Album “i/o” will be released on December 1st – all formats at a glance

Peter Gabriel has announced the release date of his new album “i/o”: The twelve tracks will be released on December 1st, 2023 in various formats.

Recorded largely at Real World Studios and Gabriel’s home studio, “i/o” features a band consisting of guitarist David Rhodes, bassist Tony Levin and drummer Manu Katché. Contributions come from Brian Eno, Richard Russel, pianist Tom Cawley, Josh Shpak and Paolo Fresu on trumpet, cellist Linnea Olsson and Don E. on keyboard. Gabriel’s daughter Melanie contributes backing vocals as does Ríoghnach Connolly (The Breath). Richard Chappell, Oli Jacobs, Katie May and Richard Evans, all from the Real Word environment, took over programming and other instruments. Also taking part are the Soweto Gospel Choir and the Swedish men’s choir Oprhei Drängar as well as the New Blood Orchestra under the direction of John Metcalfe.
