Alberto Fernández shared a photo of his three-year-old son Francisco on social networks, marking a family reunion after Fabiola Yañez’s return to Argentina. In an emotional message, the former president wrote: “Love is stronger. Francisco’s return filled me with happiness. We hugged each other, we were filled with love, we laughed, as it should be between a father and a son.” In the image you can see the child wearing an Argentinos Juniors shirt, a gesture that symbolizes closeness and a recovered emotional bond.
Yañez, who had denounced Fernández for gender violence and had lived in Madrid for almost two years, returned to the country two weeks ago with her son. Francisco, under the care of his mother since December 2023, began an assisted reconnection process with his father, first virtually and now in person, under the supervision of the Ministry of Children and at Fernández’s home. This reunion occurs in the middle of two legal cases: one civil for food quota and another criminal for gender violence, in which the former president was prosecuted. Judge Julián Ercolini, in charge of the file, was removed from the case due to possible conflicts of interest.
Francisco’s return to Argentina was due to an unforeseen family reason: a health problem of someone close to Yañez, according to sources close to the former first lady. The situation led Yañez to decide to remain in the country indefinitely. In this context, the rebonding process between father and son, which was already taking place virtually, was intensified with supervised in-person meetings, reflecting an attempt to rebuild the family bond.
Fernández’s message, spread on social networks, comes at a sensitive time and brings to the fore a personal dimension crossed by judicial tensions. The reunion with his son represents a step in that process, although still conditioned by the ongoing causes and the complex emotional framework that surrounds the former presidential couple.
