Albert Verlinde will not join Today Inside in the new TV season in the event of breaking newsbut on Renze Klamer’s talk show. “I think that will be the division.”
It has fizzled out: the failed talk show RTL Tonight silently said goodbye to the viewer last night. Albert Verlinde was also at the desk and confirmed that for the new TV season – he signed with RTL for two years, but Tonight will stop after just one year – he has made new agreements about his TV appearances.
Albert’s split
After the summer, Albert will be seen on Renze Klamer as well as on Today Inside. “Albert, you are going to make a split between RTL and SBS. You are going back to your old friends. Did you miss them?”, Humberto Tan asks him.
Albert: “Yes, I can say that, right?”
Humberto: “What did you miss about VI?”
Albert: “The atmosphere, having a good laugh with each other and occasionally pushing the boundaries in a discussion. I don’t know what it is.”
No atmosphere
In other words: the atmosphere that was not there at RTL Tonight, Albert wants to say. “I really missed it and I hoped that we would also get that here, but it has become a different program. I miss it, but I have a two-year contract with RTL. I have a new boss and he also said: ‘What do you want?’, because I still have a contract for one year.”
He is referring to Peter Lubbers. “I said to him: ‘I actually really want to return to SBS’, but he said: ‘I also really want you to stay at RTL.’ Then we came up with the solution: okay, you can go back to Today Inside and we would also like you to join Renze every now and then to explain what is happening in the entertainment field.”
