Albert Verlinde is now really starting to get annoyed by the clingy behavior of Prime Minister Rob Jetten and his sweetheart Nicolás Keenan. “There is a certain responsibility that comes with it,” he says sternly.
Prime Minister Rob Jetten and his sweetheart Nicolás Keenan are almost permanently hanging around each other’s necks on social media. According to Albert Verlinde, a prime minister should really show some restraint. He himself never behaved like that when he was the mayor’s sweetheart of Onno Hoes, he wants to say at the desk of RTL Tonight.
This is Hanny
It’s getting real now too muchsaid Albert. “At first I thought: it’s not too bad,” he says. But then he saw the two doing an outfit check before going to the king. “Yes, this is all just before they go to the king. Then I think: yes, do I have to see it all?”
He continues: “I don’t find it annoying to watch, because I have a husband myself, that’s not the point at all, but I’ve seen a lot of prime ministers who don’t do all that and don’t say: ‘Oh, this is Hanny, and we’re going together now!’”
Suitsupply
Now, however, Rob and Nicolás have really gone too far, according to Albert. He points to Nicolás sponsored post in collaboration with Suitsupply (see below). “You like me, and that’s not the point, but when I see that Rob Jetten’s fiancée posts a photo of the tuxedo he is wearing and writes below it: ‘Powered by Suitsupply…’”
“Yes, then I think: well, I think that’s going a long way, to be honest, to include that as a partner of the Prime Minister. And then the Prime Minister: ‘Can I take you on a date?‘”
‘Know your role!’
That kind of text from Prime Minister Rob Jetten under a sponsored photo of his sweetheart is simply not possible, according to Albert. “Then I think: yes, you do have to know what your role is at a given moment. I am critical of that.”
He concludes: “It’s fantastic that we have a gay couple, but I think there is a certain responsibility that comes with it.”
