Albanian prince Leka II not happy with Feyenoord fans in Tirana: ‘Pure chaos’ | Dutch football

Feyenoord and AS Roma will play the final of the Conference League in Tirana on Wednesday evening. In the city, supporters clashed with the police on Tuesday. According to the Albanian authorities, sixty football fans arrested, including twelve Dutchmen. The rest were Italian. Ten officers were injured and a police car was damaged.

According to Albanian Daily News and Italian media were at least two hundred Feyenoord players involved in a fight with the police. That was near the Air Albania stadium, where Feyenoord will play against AS Roma on Wednesday evening.

In an explanation, Leka informed the ANP that the combination of beer and peer pressure had an effect on young supporters. “Most of them are probably just having a good time, but Albanian police officers have been taken to hospital,” he said. “This is new for Albania. We only have boisterous crowds at political demonstrations. Football is normally a family affair here.”
