Alba Berlin wrestles ratiopharm Ulm down

Alba Berlin has continued its race to catch up in the basketball Bundesliga!

The capital club won a catch-up game against ratiopharm Ulm with 78:73 (43:42) in front of 7077 spectators on Good Friday. Alba climbs to third place, but has still played fewer games than the competition. The hosts’ best throwers were Maodo Lo with 15 and Malte Delow with 12 points.

The game started very balanced, both teams immediately found their throwing rhythm. In the middle of the first quarter, Alba was able to slowly break away thanks to a good defense. The Berliners made it increasingly difficult for Ulm to find good throwing positions. At the beginning of the second period, Alba ran 14:0 and after 14 minutes was able to break away to 20 points for the first time (40:20).

Ulm took a break – and suddenly nothing worked for the hosts. The Berliners conceded a 0:14 run during, they themselves only got three points before the break.

Immediately after the break, Ulm took the lead for the first time (45:43). But the German champions responded immediately and took the lead back in direct return. The game remained hard-fought, also because the guests never gave up. Alba brought the lead to the finish and celebrated the fourth league win in a row.
