The German basketball champion ALBA Berlin has signed the Slovenian top talent Ziga Samar.
As the Berliners announced on Friday, the 21-year-old point guard comes from the Spanish first division club Fuenlabrada CB and will receive a four-year contract with ALBA.
Samar, who also played in Real Madrid’s youth department, was voted into the team’s best young players last season.
“His style of play and his character suit ALBA perfectly. He has enormous potential. At the same time, ALBA suits him perfectly,” said sporting director Himar Ojeda: “We will help him to further exploit his potential and give him the opportunity to develop into a player to develop at the absolute top level.”
