Ajax Women beats Telstar, VV creeps up after victory

The North Holland get-together between Ajax Women and Telstar was won by the team from Amsterdam. At Sportpark De Toekomst it ended in 1-0. At the restart of the competition, VV Alkmaar defeated Excelsior Rotterdam 1-2.

Goalkeeper Lize Kop was honored before the match because of her hundredth match as an Ajax player. Ajax Women started stronger than the team from Velsen. Eshly Bakker got the first chance on the opening goal and failed. Ajax remained better than Telstar after this. Nadine Noordam was close to the opening goal, but her attempt ended on the crossbar.

After the break it was Tiny Hoekstra who was important again. She scored for the third game in a row and made it 1-0. That was her twelfth goal of the season. Ajax seemed to extend the score, but this goal was declared invalid due to offside.

The team from Amsterdam is second behind FC Twente with the same number of points, the Tukkers have played one game less. The next match is in Eindhoven against PSV.

VV Alkmaar

The first game of the second half of the season was canceled last week. As a result, VV Alkmaar played for the first time after the winter break today. It was Veerle van der Most who scored in the fourth minute. It wasn’t until well into the second half that the score was expanded. Judith Roosjen made the liberating 2-0. Rachel Kleine scored in stoppage time, but the victory was not in danger.

Thanks to the win, VV Alkmaar rises to shared seventh place with sc Heerenveen. The Alkmaar football players have a better goal difference than the Frisians. Heerenveen is the opponent next Tuesday.
