Some of the Ajax supporters who have a season ticket, but cannot come to the home match against PEC on Saturday, can temporarily give up their place via the Ajax app. The club wants to see whether the function in the app, which should be introduced next season, works well.
Although Ajax’s home matches are always sold out, a striking number of places remain empty in some matches. These places often belong to season ticket holders. There is currently no legal way to give up a seat once, but that should change soon.
A place to legally sell your Ajax ticket already existed years ago. According to a spokesperson for the club, there were too many snags in that version: “The technology has been further developed in the years since and the Ajax app also offers now much more options than in previous years.”
