Ajax plays a benefit match that is all about Ukraine

Ajax will play a benefit match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday 26 July (kick-off at 8:00 PM). Ukrainian refugees from the Amsterdam region are invited to the match in the Johan Cruijff Arena. The proceeds go to charity.

The match is completely dominated by Ukraine. Refugees who have been received in the Amsterdam region are invited. Volunteers are also invited who are committed to Ukrainian refugees and aid projects. Ajax and the Johan Cruijff ArenA have decided to donate the entire proceeds of the match to various projects and organizations that provide aid to Ukrainian refugees and aid projects in Ukraine.

Shakhtar Donetsk

Shakhtar Donetsk topped the Ukrainian league at the end of February when it was shut down due to the war with Russia. UEFA has decided that the team can therefore participate in the Champions League. Shakhtar will be in the Netherlands for a training camp in July. Former Ajax player David Neres made the switch to Shakhtar in the winter, did not play a minute and signed a contract with Benfica this week.

Ajax is currently at a training camp in De Lutte. Tomorrow the team of trainer Alfred Schreuder will practice against SC Paderborn. The kick-off is at 13.00 in Oldenzaal.
