The Amsterdammers play at home against Inter, Benfica, Olympiakos, Galatasaray and out at Chelsea, Villarreal, Olympique Marseille and Qarabag.
The Eindhoven team meet Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid, Napoli, Union St. Gillis in their own Philips Stadium and play against Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, Olympiakos and Newcastle United.
Just like last season, UEFA works with a competition round, which determines which of the 36 participating clubs flow to the knockout rounds, instead of the former group phase that, according to critics, had become too predictable.
