“It’s no surprise that they’re there.” That was the reaction of Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder to the election of Kenneth Taylor and Remko Pasveer. The team from Amsterdam narrowly lost against Liverpool in the midweek and the derby against AZ is scheduled again on Sunday.
“I didn’t have the idea that AZ was already working with Ajax against Vaduz”, Schreuder said. “After the red card, around the sixtieth minute, they only started substitutions.” Vangelis Pavlidis, Jesper Karlsson and Hakon Evjen are missing from the Alkmaarders with injuries.
“I mainly looked at the current attack,” explained Schreuder. “That boy from RKC (Jens Odgaard ed.) stands out. We already know Dani de Wit and Bruno Martins Indi is fit again. Last year we drew and lost, but won in the cup. day come.”
