Ajax coach Schreuder also saw lesser phases against Rangers: “Sloppyness must be removed”

After a comfortable 3-1 victory over Rangers FC, Alfred Schreuder can celebrate his 50th birthday fairly relaxed. Still, the Ajax coach did not think everything he saw on the field went well.

“This team is in development,” said Schreuder after the game. “You can clearly see that. We have had a lot of good phases in this match, but I also see lesser phases in which we are too careless on the ball. That has to go. We have to be more stable.”

Schreuder complimented the Ajax fans, who came to the Ibrox Stadium in large numbers yesterday. “It’s great that they’re there,” said Schreuder. “They have supported us at all away games. It is also great for the players when there are so many fans.”
