Ajax before the transfer of VfB Stuttgart’s ex-goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton

Tense staff situation

Due to the injuries to Maarten Stekelenburg (39), Remko Pasveer (38) and Jay Gorter (21), André Onana (25) is currently the only fit goalkeeper left in the Ajax Amsterdam squad. In order to remedy the tense situation in this position, the Dutch champion plans to make an immediate transfer.

Like the newspaperDe Telegraaf“ reported, the choice fell on Przemyslaw Tyton. The 35-year-old has been without a club since the beginning of the year after his contract with FC Cincinnati ended. In the 2015/16 season, the 14-time Polish national keeper was active at VfB Stuttgart, for whom he played 33 compulsory games. Ajax would be the eighth professional stop in his career and the third in the Netherlands after Roda JC Kerkrade and PSV Eindhoven.

Robbin Ruiter (34) also recently completed a trial with the top of the table, but according to reports, coach Erik ten Hag was particularly impressed by Tyton’s greater international experience, whom he already knows from his time as an assistant at PSV. Better fitness Tytons should also have played a role.

Whilst ten Hag still have a top international goalkeeper in Onana, should anything happen to the Cameroonian the boss would have to call on 17-year-old Charlie Setford from the second team. The Englishman is considered a great talent, but obviously still has to work on his physical robustness. Ajax is still active in three competitions.
