Ajax attacker Danilo seems to make a spicy transfer to Feyenoord | NOW

Ajax striker Danilo is reportedly about to make a transfer to arch-rival Feyenoord. According to the AD and VI the 23-year-old Brazilian will soon sign a four-year contract in De Kuip.

Danilo’s switch is the reverse route that Steven Berghuis took a year ago. The attacker made the switch from Feyenoord to Ajax in the summer of 2021, after which he was threatened for months.

With the arrival of Danilo, Feyenoord is already anticipating the possible departure of a number of attackers. Bryan Linssen is associated with a transfer to the Japanese Urawa Red Diamonds and the question is whether the striker Cyriel Dessers rented from KRC Genk can be definitively taken over.

Danilo, whose contract with Ajax expires at the end of next month, had been sidetracked in Amsterdam this season. The Brazilian scored two goals for the champion in thirteen Eredivisie matches. Behind Sébastien Haller and Brian Brobbey, he was the third choice of the coach Erik ten Hag who has now left for Manchester United.

Danilo could never convince at Ajax

Danilo was in his fifth season at Ajax. He was acquired in 2017 for about 2 million euros from the Brazilian Santos. In Amsterdam, however, he could never fully convince.

Last season he was rented out to FC Twente, where he was a fixed value. Danilo played 34 official games for the Tukkers and was good for 17 goals and five assists.

Kenneth Vermeer was the last Ajax player to make the spicy switch to Feyenoord in 2014. Angelos Charisteas (2006), John van Loen (1993) and Johan Cruijff (1983) preceded him, among others.
