Air quality in our country this year is comparable to that of 2023, but with less particulate matter and fewer ozone days

In 2024, air quality in Belgium was broadly comparable to that in 2023. Nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter concentrations decreased slightly and the number of ozone days was also lower in 2024. One of the explanations: the wet and rainy weather meant better conditions for air quality, reports the Interregional Cell for the Environment (IRCEL) today.
