Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Limited announces the pilot launch of an AI program for global business commerce.
The AI, called “Aidge” (AI for Digital and Global Entrepreneurship), is aimed at optimizing companies’ global trading processes, the online retailer said on Monday. The AI is based on voice and computer vision models developed by Alibaba and trained for e-commerce activities. In this way, “Aidge” is intended to improve company performance and at the same time reduce costs for companies.
Currently, the program supports 18 languages and has more than 15 programming interfaces, covering various areas of global commerce, including customer service, marketing, design and product content localization.
In the pilot phase, “Aidge” services will be introduced for retailers on Alibaba’s online platforms. The AI program will be further tested and designed together with SaaS partners and independent service companies. The online giant expects to gradually roll out the technology by region by the end of this year.
“Small and medium-sized businesses operating in global trade continue to face numerous challenges, such as: “Our newly launched AI suite ‘Aidge’ draws on our years of experience in global Trade and is designed to simplify global operations for small and medium-sized businesses.”
