AI creates images of texts from Belgian real estate agents, but homes look slightly different in reality | Domestic

“For sale: historic building in a beautifully situated green area. Modern living room, charming kitchen with dining area, bathroom with freestanding bath and walk-in shower. You may start to dream away when you read the description of a property, but when you look at the photos you wonder whether the description is actually about the property in question. It gave Hannes Coudenys of Ugly Belgian Houses a brilliant idea. He has artificial intelligence create images to describe Belgian real estate agents. The results are remarkable.

Coudenys, the man who takes photos of Belgian houses and distributes them under the name Ugly Belgian Houses (or ‘ugly Belgian houses’), instructs artificial intelligence (AI) to create an image of a home alongside the texts of real estate agents. The images that AI creates are slightly different from the homes in reality. And even that is an understatement.

“This charming and rural house has a spacious garden with a beautiful view of the green surroundings behind it. The house has a solid building structure and has a lot of potential! On the ground floor there is a hall with stairs to the second floor, a living room with sitting and dining area, kitchen, veranda, laundry room, toilet, storage room and garage. On the second floor there are three bedrooms and a storage room. There is also a spacious outbuilding and carport.”

Below you can view the result. On the left we see the house that according to AI fits the real estate agent’s description, on the right is the house that actually fits the description. Even after blinking a few times, the similarities between the two images are distant. But judge for yourself.
