The German volleyball players conceded their fifth defeat in the eighth game at the World Cup and thus lost their last small chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
The German women’s national volleyball team clearly defeated the Dominican Republic at the World Cup in the Netherlands and Poland on Friday (October 7th, 2022) in 1: 3 sets (25:19, 18:25, 22:25, 18 :25) lost. This means that coach Vital Heynen’s team no longer has a chance of reaching the quarter-finals and remains at the bottom of Group F.
Last group game on Saturday against Poland
The DVV selection got off to a good start in Lodz, Poland, against the Olympic ninth in Tokyo and penultimate in the group, but then found no means against the opposing top attacker Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez (28 points). The Heynen team’s best scorer was outside attacker Hanna Orthmann (16).
