Jani Hakanpää will not participate in the 4 Nations Face -off tournament starting on 13 February, to which she was originally named.
The reason is the injuries that Hakanpää has suffered for most of the season.
The Finnish defender club in Toronto Maple Leafs X is reported by the Finnish defender.
Sportsnet reporter Luke Fox Write in X that Hakanpää used 4 Nations tournaments as a motivation to rehabilitate his injury.
In the past, an important piece of Finnish back lines was dropped as Miro Heiskanen was flagged out of the tournament. He was injured on Wednesday in a match against Vegas Golden Knights.
Hakanpää’s place on the Lions team is likely to go to either the New York Rangers Urho Vaakanainen or Henri Jokiharju, Buffalo Sabers.
Winnipeg Jets’ Ville Heinola and Ottawa Senators Nikolas Matinpalo have also played in the NHL this season.
The 4 Nations Face-off teams are named only from NHL players.
The striker Erik Haula, who suffered injury, was involved in New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
Devils reporter Amanda Stein tells X, however, that I will not be expected to play against Buffalo Sabers this night.
