The cyclist got off with scrapes, the police let NH know. For a 14-year-old girl things ended less well last October. She was on the same crossing run over by a delivery van and was trapped.

In the months before that accident, Bert had expressed his concerns several times at the municipality. His own granddaughter was missed just before his eyes except for a hair by a car.

Afraid of a bad outcome

“I am afraid that on an evil day it will end very badly for a cycling child, because many teenagers along it cycle on their way to school or in their breaks, on their way to the supermarket for their nice appetite. And that often also goes on a fatbike, while chatting with each other,” Bert explains why he is so worried.

Yuval – who lives directly next to the intersection – holds his heart, he told NH last year. “I saw yesterday that my daughter was coming cycling without looking good. She has priority, but I urged her to brake and look around.”
