After protests from Germany and Italy: last step for European ban on cars with combustion engines postponed

From 2035, new cars may no longer have a combustion engine, if it depends on Europe. Following the approval of the European Parliament in mid-February, the European Council was due to vote one last time on the legislation next Tuesday. Normally a formality, but the issue has now been shelved after protests from Germany and Italy, among others.
