There was a fear for the life of the former, and once that threat was gone, the question arose whether the two would ever return to the highest level? The phenomenal sprint victories of Jakobsen in Nyborg and Groenewegen in Sonderborg provided the answer and caused goosebumps, tears and intense joy in both camps.
