After Paulo Dybala, AS Roma also signed Andrea Belotti on a free transfer

Most valuable clubless player on the market

After Paulo Dybala (28), AS Roma has made another top-class transfer for which no fee is due. After leaving FC Torino, Andrea Belotti (28) initially signed for a year until 2023. The contract can be extended by an option for a further two years. With a market value of 20 million euros, the European champion was the last most valuable player without a job.

With his working paper at the Granata expiring in 2022, the top scorer of the last four Torino seasons had not only attracted numerous speculations about possible buyers since last season. Borussia Dortmund was also a topic in rumors several times. For Roma, Belotti is now one of the most valuable players ever to sign for a free transfer. Only Dybala, who also arrived this summer, was trading at a higher market value at the time of the free transfer. Veteran Nemanja Matić (33) also brought Roma after his contract with Man United ended (all Roma transfers of the summer).

“Andrea is one of the most accurate strikers in Serie A and will continue to strengthen our attacking department,” said Roma director Tiago Pinto. “We were all very impressed by the determination with which he chose Roma and we are very happy to be able to start this new adventure today.”
