Coach Lukas Kwasniok will leave SC Paderborn after the current second division season. The club announced this on Tuesday.

Kwasniok was actually bound to the SCP until 2026, but now the premature separation follows. The East Westphalia did not provide any information about the exact reasons. Kwasniok has been on the Paderborn sidelines since 2021, followed by Steffen Baumgart.

“The club gave me the opportunity to prove me for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga and support me at all times. The full focus is now on the remaining five games in which we want to make our dream reality,” said Kwansiok in a club announcement.

In the 2nd Bundesliga, the SCP is currently in the middle of the promotion battle, but after three defeats in a row slipped to seventh place. The gap to SV Elversberg on the relegation rank is only two points.

Weber: “Necessary Planning security “

“I am very pleased that we have achieved a mutual solution with mutual appreciation that gives everyone involved the necessary planning security,” commented Paderborn’s managing director Sport Benjamin Weber the early separation. “Together we achieved a lot in the past year. Lukas’ professional competence and his great commitment have contributed strongly to the positive results of the seasons.”

In winter there was a fuss about Kwasniok when the club refused to switch to Hamburger SV. Now the separation follows in summer. A successor, like Kwasniok’s new club, has not yet been determined.
