A federal court in the United States sentenced Ramesh ‘Sunny’ Balwani to nearly 13 years in prison on Wednesday. Balwani was chief operating officer (COO) of Theranos, an American biotech company that went bankrupt a few years ago. Last month, the founder of the then California start-up, pregnant Elizabeth Holmes, was already sentenced to 11 years in prison.
