As I had suspected when he signed up, that couldn’t happen.
Tedesco would certainly be a brilliant assistant coach, but as head coach you will always fail because of yourself. He seems to lack empathy, which is a real shame because he is excellent in theory.
Apart from some compromises at Schalke, he was unable to sustainably develop a team at any of his positions and achieve success over more than one season (if at all).
Even if Fenerbahce is not an easy club to coach, that can no longer be used as an excuse at Tedesco.
It is now a clear pattern that runs through his entire career and it is a mystery to me that there are still ambitious, larger clubs that hire him and believe that things will work out differently at their club. He was valedictorian at the time
(1.0) at the 2016 football teacher course, ahead of Nagelsmann, who came second. (1.3)
Nagelsmann, although I wouldn’t put him on the top shelf, has clearly developed better, while Tedesco is completely stagnating. Something is fundamentally wrong with him.
