Long term contract
Vincent Kompany will not leave Burnley FC this summer. The Belgian ex-pro, who has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, signed a new long-term contract until 2028 with the Championship club on Sunday, who are already confirmed as promoted and champions.
“Burnley and Turf Moor felt right from the start – so it feels right to sign for the next five years. Together with the fans we have made Turf Moor a fortress again and we continue to look forward to the future and the task of making Burnley better with every step,” said Kompany.
Berge, Aarons & Co.: Most Valuable Players of the Championship
The former centre-back had his first coaching experience at his youth club RSC Anderlecht before moving to England before the season. After relegation, he made an immediate and confident return to the Premier League with Burnley. After 45 games, the “Clarets” are at the top of the table with 98 points and can still reach the 100 point mark on the last day of the game (to the table).
