After barely 12 years, Defense dumps modern NH-90 helicopters due to too expensive: “Not the best purchase”

After barely twelve years, the four NH-90 TTH transport helicopters of Defense are already taken out of service. Defense minister Theo Francken (N-VA) announced today that the aircraft will remain on the ground from September. The flying cost, which rises up to 15,000 euros per hour, makes them too expensive in use and maintenance. The whole story raises questions about the efficiency of European defense cooperation, of which the NH-90 helicopter was once the signboard.
