After allegations of abuse: Jay-Z & Beyoncé surprise appearance at film premiere

Also on the red carpet for the film “Mufasa: The Lion King”: Blue Ivy Carter and Tina Knowles.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z attended the premiere of the film “Mufasa: The Lion King” together in Los Angeles on Monday evening (December 9th). The performance came just a day after a civil lawsuit was filed against the rapper for allegedly raping a then 13-year-old girl. The same lawsuit states that Sean “Diddy” Combs is also said to have assaulted the victim.

A good face for the evil game?

The couple posed for photos with daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who like her mother has a role in the musical, and also with Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles. The glamorously dressed family in the pictures from the event didn’t seem to be panicking about the allegations against Jay-Z. However, they did not make any statements about the open case on site.

Press representatives are said not to have known that she would be present at the premiere. Beyoncé is actually known for avoiding red carpet appearances in favor of holding her own photo shoots.

The allegations against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs

On Sunday, December 8th, lawyer Tony Buzbee refiled the rape lawsuit against Combs and this time named Shawn Corey Carter (Jay-Z’s real name) as an accomplice for the first time. He represents a total of more than 120 plaintiffs who accuse the producer and rap mogul Combs of sexual abuse, among other things. The rape of the plaintiff, who was anonymized in the lawsuit as “Jane Doe,” is said to have occurred in 2000. She accuses Carter and Combs of committing the alleged act at a house party after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

Jay-Z defends himself on social media

Jay-Z released a statement on Roc Nation’s X account, calling the lawsuit an “attempt at extortion.” He clearly denied the allegations, insulted Buzbee and emphasized that he would never abuse a child. “These allegations are so heinous that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil complaint!!! Anyone who commits such a crime against a minor should be locked up, don’t you agree?” wrote the 55-year-old.
