Mathieu van der Poel completely disappeared from the radar in January so that he could recover from back problems and knee surgery. Not cycling for a month was difficult for the 27-year-old rider, but it did him good. Van der Poel is perhaps better than ever and will start on Sunday in the Tour of Flanders as one of the top favorites.
