Arne Slot, the Dutch football coach who won the Premier League with Liverpool FC last year, has been fired by this British football club. Liverpool reported this on Saturday via email message on X. It is not yet known who will succeed the 47-year-old Slot.

After an almost perfect debut season last year, Slot seemed to have lost control of the team this season. Liverpool conceded more goals than ever and finished in fifth place. That ranking is enough to participate in the Champions League.

There had been speculation about Slot’s departure for some time. Liverpool praises the achievements of the Dutchman, who previously had success as a coach at AZ and Feyenoord. “We will always be grateful to Arne for giving us our twentieth title,” Liverpool reports on X.
