The FC Bayern Munich basketball players opened their semi-final series against Telekom Baskets Bonn in the BBL play-offs with a win in game one. The defending champion prevailed in a close game with 83:78 (18:21, 12:13, 20:24,33:20).

Once again the FCBB showed their ability to take advantage and reduced the score to 50:55 with a three-pointer from Nenad Dimitrijevic 23 seconds before the end of the third quarter, but again Aminu showed a lucky touch and hit a three-pointer three seconds before the end of the quarter, so that the Rhinelanders went into the final period with a 58:50 lead.

The course of the final ten minutes was similar to that of the previous quarter. At the beginning, Bonn increased their lead to twelve points, but this didn’t last long because Bayern continued to defend themselves.

Lucic equalizes for Bayern

World and European champion Obst brought Munich within two points with two three-pointers before Vladimir Lucic equalized the game with two free throws to make the score 71:71.

After a missed layup by Jalen Finch, the Munich native Oscar da Silva scored the FCBB’s first lead since the first quarter with a goal. Bonn managed to make it 73:73, but it couldn’t stop the seven-time German champions from winning.

Bonn’s Aminu best scorer – Dimitrijevic with a double-double

The best scorer of the game was Bonn’s shooting guard Aminu with 23 points. The German hit five of his twelve three-point attempts and contributed three steals. Da Silva was the most dangerous basket hunter for the home team with 13 points and five rebounds. In addition to the local hero, point guard Dimitrijevic also stood out with ten points and 14 assists. Game two takes place on Monday evening at 8.30 p.m. in Munich.

In the second semi-final game of the day, the Bamberg Baskets suffered a heavy defeat against Alba Berlin. The Franconians clearly lost their first game against the capital city team with 86:105 (19:18, 15:35, 20:30, 32:22).
