After 20 years, Frans and Mariska Bauer will have a real-life soap on TV again

The bullet is in the church: The Bauers get another real-life soap on TV. The recordings with the family of singer Frans, Mariska and their children will start soon. Broadcaster AVROTROS confirmed this on Thursday.

The new episodes should be available from early next year. The program returns to the air after more than twenty years. At the time, the events in the family were a great success on RTL4. Not only did several million Dutch people watch it every week, the real-life soap even won the Golden Televizier Ring in 2004.

Recently there have been rumors about a possible return. For example, last June the singer announced in the talk show Renze op Zondag that there were many offers from different parties.

Doubt
Yet he indicated at the time that the choice was not his alone. “I don’t want to put pressure on my family. At the time we had two children. Now there are two more. It’s quite a lot. When you get out of bed in the morning, the cameraman is already waiting on the couch,” said the singer back then. However, AVROTROS has now apparently managed to convince the entire family.
