The Afsluitdijk is closed in both directions due to a malfunction at the bridge over the Stevin locks. A technician is on his way, but it is not yet clear when the malfunction will be resolved.
It is not yet known what exactly the malfunction is. “A technician was automatically called up,” explains a spokesman for Rijkswaterstaat.
Despite the fact that a traffic jam is forming on the Afsluitdijk, the spokesman sees no problems for the engineer to get to the problem. “Of course it doesn’t benefit the speed, but it’s close to the A7 so I assume it will be there soon.”
It is not yet clear how long it will take to solve the problems.
