Awoniyi makes his debut goal for Nigeria
Striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Bundesliga club Union Berlin made the preliminary decision in favor of the Nigerians: Awoniyi scored just before the break to make it 2-0 and scored his first goal for the senior national team.
In addition, Samuel Chukwueze (3rd minute) and Moses Simon (46th) scored. Khedr Safour Daiyeen (70′) was able to shorten the gap with a penalty kick for Sudan. Nigeria now lead Group D with six points.
Salah lets Egypt breathe easier
Record winners Egypt, after starting 0-1 against Awoniyi and Co., scored their much-needed first win with a 1-0 (0-0) win over Guinea-Bissau and are now second.
Liverpool star striker Mohamed Salah (69th) scored the decisive goal. Stuttgart’s Omar Marmoush was again in the starting XI.
