Africa Cup: Ex-BVB pro Diallo shoots Senegal against Burkina Faso in the final

Ex-BVB professional Diallo paves the way

The national team of Senegal is again in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. The “Lions of Teranga” defeated Burkina Faso 3-1 (0-0) on Wednesday and are thus making the next attempt to win their first title at the continental championship. Abdou Diallo (70′, photo), Idrissa Gueye (76′) and Sadio Mané (87′) scored the goals for the Senegalese, who face either hosts Cameroon or Egypt in Sunday’s final.

At the last Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, Senegal lost 1-0 to Algeria in the final. The top favorites had to wait a long time against Burkina Faso before they scored the opener. Bayern defender Bouna Sarr, who was in the starting XI, was also able to celebrate. In Burkina Faso, who scored an interim goal through Ibrahim Blati Touré (82′), Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba played in central defence.
