“It’s all so unreal”, Boven responds, who was allowed to announce the news today. She has known about her new job since last Wednesday; she was elected by the NOS after an internal screen test. Boven has worked for the past eight years as editor-in-chief and reporter for Omrop Fryslân. Since last year she has been working as editor-in-chief of the NOS Journaal Region.

“I really have to get used to the idea,” she says. “I have already presented a lot at Omrop Fryslân, but that this comes together in this way. The NOS is the podium as a journalist. Someone said: ‘It is the Champions League’. She feels it for me. We in the North are very sober , and then suddenly the time has come. Very strange that I am news myself.”
Boven, who is still working as editor-in-chief for the regional news this month, says that she was nervous this morning. When the news was made public, her congratulatory phone ‘exploded’ and she was able to relax. “I’m really just enjoying it now.”
Team complete
Chief editor Marcel Gelauff of NOS News says that Boven has the obvious authority that befits a presenter of the NOS Journaal. “She will guide the viewer along the news in a pleasant and natural way,” he says.
With the arrival of Boven, the NOS Journaal presentation team is complete again after the departure of Astrid Kersseboom and Amber Brantsen. Upstairs will start in the morning.
