Goals from internationals Muhsen Al-Ghassani and Salah Al-Yahyaei in the 95th and 99th minutes of extra time propelled Omani champions of the 2019/20 season, Al-Seeb, into the semi-finals of the AFC Cup.

2020/21 Kuwaiti champions Al-Arabi SC have suffered the loss of a number of key players since completing the group stage as league leaders. Kingsley Eduwo only scored the first goal (115th).
