The Adler Mannheim remain the first pursuer of leaders ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League.
Coach Dallas Eakins’ team defeated the penultimate Iserlohn Roosters 5:3 (1:2, 3:0, 1:1) and moved back to within one point of Ingolstadt. The Panthers won 8:5 against defending champions Eisbären Berlin on Thursday.
A strong second quarter was enough for Mannheim to narrowly win against the strong Iserlohn team.
Matthias Plachta (21′) and Marc Michaelis (23′) gave the Eagles their first lead with their brace at the start of the second period, but Iserlohn stayed with it until the end.
The Straubing Tigers, who celebrated their third win in a row against Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven 3:2 (1:0, 0:2, 2:0), after previously losing seven of eight games, caught themselves.
However, the fifth-placed team had to wait a long time for a turnaround on Friday: Justin Scott and Tyler Madden turned the game around in the final third.
