The Adler Mannheim lost second place in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) in their first game in over a month.
The ex-champion lost 2:3 (1:1, 1:0, 0:2) at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers after two late goals and is twelve points behind leaders Eisbären Berlin in third place. However, the Mannheim team played two fewer matches.
Gregor MacLeod (6th) gave Nuremberg the lead. Florian Elias (9th) and Lean Bergmann (39th) turned the game around before Dane Fox (58th) and again MacLeod (60th) shot the hosts to victory.
