Adidas and the Berlin sneaker store Overkill are continuing their long-standing partnership and releasing two new models from the ZX series as part of the “Mission ZX: Away from Home” campaign.

The design of the Adidas ZX 8000 and ZX 9000 is inspired by the classic home and away jerseys of the German national soccer team, Adidas announced on Monday. The launch is accompanied by a three-part film campaign in the style of a spy film. In it, Overkill CEO Marc Leuschner, in the role of a legendary groundskeeper, brings a secret World Cup strategy to Canada.

He is supported by a prominent cast: national player Thomas Müller, rapper Nura and presenter Kai Pflaume are part of the humorous story, which presents the new silhouettes as the central heroes of the mission.

Clean look with attention to detail

The two sneakers are based on a simple, white base and implement their football inspiration using targeted color and material accents. While the Adidas ZX 9000 Overkill takes up color elements from the home jersey and sees itself as a further development of the model from 2024, the adidas Adidas ZX 8000 Overkill interprets the details of the away jersey.

In terms of materials, the ZX-8000 model uses a combination of pinstripe mesh with premium suede and nubuck overlays. The ZX 9000 combines classic materials with a reflective silver heel element and gradient stripes. Both models feature Overkill branding on the tongue and heel, specially designed insoles and come with different laces.

The shoes will be available at Overkill from May 30th and will also be offered in children’s sizes.
