Borussia Dortmund narrowly wins 1-0 against 1. FC Köln. A star of the “Black and Yellow” doesn’t feel like celebrating at all at times. He shows a gross lack of control. After the game, the coach reacts.

Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovač reacted diplomatically to Karim Adeyemi’s outburst of anger after his substitution. “It’s relatively easy,” explained the coach after BVB’s last-minute win against 1. FC Köln (1-0). “You can be disappointed and angry, but if you want to be on the pitch for 90 minutes, then your friend, your colleague, won’t play. If you can work that out with him, then you’ll play 90 minutes next time.”

In the future, the players would have to sort it out among themselves and “cannot get on his nerves,” said Kovač, who also admitted that his protégé’s action was “unnecessary.” “We are a team and only as a team can we be successful.”

Adeyemi didn’t score against Cologne and was substituted in the 79th minute when the score was 0-0. As he left the field, he expressed his disappointment and kicked a drinking bottle.

Maximilian Beier finally scored the decisive goal to make it 1-0 – although he did not come into the game for Adeyemi, but replaced Carney Chukwuemeka.
