The AD is almost certain that Talpa will announce this week that the plug will be pulled on Gordon’s Radio 10 morning show. “The radio world is already buzzing with rumors.”
The reports about the disappointing listening figures of his morning show on Radio 10 have been a thorn in Gordon’s side since the beginning. For any presenter, it is a blow to your ego if your program is canceled due to disappointing results, so Goor seems to be hedging himself: he indicates that he has doubts because of the early time.
Not a dream wedding
It A.D now firmly reports that Gordon’s morning show will indeed stop. “It has yet to be officially confirmed, but there doesn’t seem to be any real doubt about it,” he said.
“In just a year, it became clear that there was no such thing as a dream marriage between the 57-year-old singer and the music channel. Parting ways seems to be the best thing for all parties.”
What does Talpa say?
What does Talpa say? He informed the ANP that he would talk to Gordon, but, as the AD writes: “The radio world is already buzzing with rumors that the end of the program will be announced this week.”
And mainly because of the low listening figures, according to AD. “The market share is now 2.1 percentage points lower than when Gordon and Froukje started. The top five most listened to stations are disappearing further and further from view.”
A bit clumsy
Private star journalist Jan Uriot finds Gordon clumsy. “It’s a bit awkward, I think, to say that now. Then people will of course immediately tune out. They think: why should I listen to this channel any longer?” he says in the podcast. Strictly Private.
“On the other hand: a lot is going wrong. Also that Blushing in Het Gooi has closed, now this will stop again. We have already said a few times that this will not last long.”
7:00 am
What would be another option for Goor? “Why from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.? Only truck drivers listen to the first hour. Just record the first hour with nice music a day in advance and a chat in between. It doesn’t have to be current at all. Then Gordon can start at 7 a.m.”
Finally, co-host Jordi Versteegden: “Yes, that is possible, but I think the listening figures are also a bit disappointing.”
