The A28 between the Hoogeveen and Pesse junction will receive a new asphalt layer. The traffic will suffer from this halfway through next month, warns Rijkswaterstaat.
According to Rijkswaterstaat, the road is ready for major maintenance. In addition to replacing the asphalt, maintenance is carried out on bridges, viaducts, crash barriers, verges and some care places. A diver under the A28 is also replaced and research is being done into the railway tunnel at Hoogeveen, to see what the state is of that tunnel.
The work starts on Thursday evening, August 14 and last until Monday 1 September. To replace the asphalt, the road is closed for two weekends for all traffic.
During the work on the Pesse lane towards the Hoogeveen junction, the following entrances and exits will be closed:
From Friday evening, August 29, 8 p.m. to Monday morning 1 September 6.00, the A28 is closed again for traffic. During the work on the Pesse lane towards the Hoogeveen junction, the following entrances and exits will be closed:
Between the full closures in the weekends, lanes are also closed off for traffic during the week and the maximum speed is lowered. The chance of traffic jams is great.
