Active Brands appoints Richard Thomas as Head of Sales for Central Europe

The Norwegian sporting goods group Active Brands AS has appointed Richard Thomas as Sales Director for the Central Europe region. The newcomer took over his post on January 1, the parent company of the brands Kari Traa, Sweet Protection, Dæhlie, Johaug, Bula, Åsnes and Vossatassar announced on Thursday.

Thomas came from the British clothing group Pentland Brands Plc, where he was Head of Territory Outdoor and Cycling for the Berghaus and Endura brands in the DACH and Benelux regions. Previously, he held various positions at Red Bull and Boards & More, among others.

At Active Brands, he will now be concentrating on the growth of the Kari Traa and Sweet Protection brands from the Munich location “together with the established sales team in the region,” according to a statement.

Erik Hegbom, Active Brands Chief Sales Officer and Sweet Protection General Manager, welcomed the new addition: “I am delighted to welcome such an ambitious, professional and authentic personality to the team,” he said in a statement. “Thomas has extensive experience and know-how in the industry and with his passion for sports and outdoors he is the perfect reinforcement.”
