Ex-BVB star threatens court proceedings

The accusations against Achraf Hakimi have been over two years ago – but now the former Dortmund consequences are threatened.
In the Achraf Hakimi case there is a new development: the Moroccan international could soon be responsible for rape allegations. The French public prosecutor’s office in Nanterre applied on Friday to hand over the procedure against the 26-year-old to a criminal court in the Département Hauts-deeine. This was announced by the AFP news agency.
The public prosecutor’s step does not yet mean any charges – “Now the investigative judge is to make a decision,” the statement continues. The French newspaper “Le Parisien” had previously reported about it.
The background is an allegation from the spring of 2023: Hakimi, who is under contract with Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain, is said to have raped a 24-year-old in his house near Paris. The former BVB professional rejects the allegations.
The player’s lawyer critically commented on the public prosecutor’s request. She called this to AFP “incomprehensible and senseless in view of the elements of the case”. She continued. “We stay as calm together with Achraf Hakimi as at the beginning of the procedure. If these claims are accepted, we will of course exploit all appeals.” The young woman’s lawyer stated: “My client takes this message with great relief.”
Hakimi switched to PSG in 2021. Before that, he played at Borussia Dortmund from 2018 to 2020.
