Several accidents occurred in Drenthe last night and this morning. The drivers were arrested in two cases.
For example, on the A28 near Assen-West towards Groningen this morning, a car left the road for unknown reasons. A car ended up in the ditch. One lane is closed. No one was injured in the accident. A recovery company will remove the vehicle from the ditch.
Things also went wrong just after midnight on the Nieuwe Ruiterweg in Havelte. There, a car left the road, crashed head-on into a tree and came to a stop on the other side of the road. The driver was not injured, but was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Later in the night, a van crashed into a tree in Koekange. That happened on the Oshaarseweg. The van suffered extensive damage, but no one was injured. Here too, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
