Two cars collided with each other at the end of the afternoon on the N374 near Buinerveen. Both vehicles ended up in a dry ditch. One of the cars ended up on the head.
The accident happened around 5.20 pm. The emergency services quickly came into action. Fire brigade, police, several ambulances and a trauma helicopter arrived. The driver of the car that crossed the head was trapped. The fire brigade has taken that person out of the vehicle. The driver of the other car could come out of the vehicle himself and was checked by ambulance personnel. One of the victims was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The road is full of debris and is currently closed to traffic. The police are investigating what exactly happened. According to a bystander, a failed catch -up action could be the cause.
